There is still time to have new flooring fitted ready for Christmas. Most of us will have more visitors at Christmas time than at any other time of the year so we want our homes to look as good as they possibly can. Flooring is one of the first things that guests notice and new flooring can instantly lift and transform a room. If your living room carpet has seen better days or the laminate in your kitchen is looking shabby, don’t panic – just pop into a Frank’s store today!

Hard Flooring or Carpet?

You will be spoilt for choice with the huge range of flooring at Frank’s – our selection really is second to none! So which will you choose?

Laminate flooring is extremely durable, which is exactly what you need when you have a lot of extra guests in the house. It is easy to clean and maintain, so you can relax knowing that you won’t have too much cleaning to do after the big day.

Vinyl flooring is perfect for high traffic areas of the house, especially the kitchen. Like laminate flooring, it is durable and easy to clean – perfect for any party time spills. We also have an extensive range of Luxury Vinyl Tile which recreates the look of stone, slate or hardwood flooring at a fraction of the price of the real thing.

At Frank’s, it is no secret that we love carpets and there is a reason that it is the go-to flooring in so many people’s homes. It helps to keep your house warm, provides a natural air filter – great for those large gatherings – and it provides a lovely soft cushion underfoot.

Christmas Tree-proof your flooring!

Nothing gets you into the Christmas spirit like decorating the Christmas tree, but before you get all carried away, make sure you protect your carpet, vinyl, laminate or wood floor!

As with cut flowers, real trees need watering! If the tree is allowed to dry out it will lose it’s needles very quickly! Use a stand with a water dish so that you can keep the water topped up. Heat can also make the tree dry out, so make sure it is not near any radiators.

Water leakage can cause damage to the carpet and wood floors. Make sure you protect the flooring beneath the tree with something waterproof to catch water if it spills, for example, a waterproof mat or a tray.

Finally, if tree sap leaks on to your carpet you will need to use alcohol to treat it. Do a test n an inconspicuous but of carpet first and then, using a clean undyed cloth, dab the alcohol onto the sap. This will harden it so that you can scrape it away.
