Our popular monthly feature is back! It’s that time once again, to get the look for less with Frank’s. This time, we’re going to show you how to achieve a classic and modern-looking hallway that will impress guests from the moment they walk through the front door.

Let’s start with flooring because that’s obviously the best bit. Who has once said that you can’t mix laminate flooring and carpet in the same space? We haven’t heard anybody say it, so let’s do it!

When it comes to staircases, we love the carpet runner trend because it adds a real touch of class. Plus, it looks expensive too if you’re trying to impress guests. You can never go wrong with a classic shade of grey, however we do have over 40,000 rolls of carpet for you to choose from depending on the sort of looking you are hoping to achieve.

Now it’s time to choose the flooring for your hallway space. Since it’s an area of the home that generally experiences high levels of footfall and may be prone to muddy footprints or marks, we recommend laminate flooring because it’s durable and low maintenance.

You could choose grey colour laminate flooring to complement the staircase runner or you could choose something entirely different, such as black or brown.

Why not take things a step further and mix it up by laying the laminate in a herringbone pattern? This style of flooring oozes elegance and gives any room a unique look.

Next, let’s think about decorating the walls and the staircase bannister. Contrasting colours really bring a room to life and can create a luxurious feel.

White walls are a great base for adding virtually anything of any colour, and contrasted by a bold black staircase, it’s a great combination that won’t go out of style quickly.

Hallways should be minimalist and free of clutter, so keep decorations sparing and avoid textures clashing. Perhaps add a silver chandelier for another touch of elegance, some beautiful family photos on the walls, and some neutral flowers to spruce the place up.

The only piece of furniture we feel a hallway really benefits from is a side table to store your keys and present scented candles or reed diffusers. A mirror to check your appearance before you leave the house is always a nice touch too, but keep things simple.

What are you waiting for? Let’s get a start on transforming your hallway! Get yourself down to your local Frank’s today, and we’ll be happy to help you any way we can.
