Whether you’ve just had new carpets installed or are looking for ways to take care of your existing carpet, we’d like to share with you our ultimate guide to cleaning and maintaining your carpet. This is to make sure it lasts as long as possible while looking great too!

Regularly vacuum

Prevention is key. Vacuuming your carpets will ensure your carpet gets that brand-new look each and every time.

Everyday house dust can build up quickly, even in rooms that are used less often, so it’s essential to make sure you vacuum your carpets at least twice a week. Softer carpets that are fluffier may require more regular vacuuming to keep them looking fabulous!

Buy a doormat

Muddy dog walks and rainy days are the worst for dirt and grime being transported through your house and, ultimately, onto your lovely, clean carpet.

Doormats actually remove more than 60% of dirt from your shoes before you step inside, so it’s definitely worth having one at the front door and back door. Just be sure to give them a shake regularly to remove any dirt that is on the loose.

Rearrange furniture

To prevent long-lasting marks caused by heavy furniture, try having a slight rearrangement to combat the issue. Not only will this keep your carpet looking extra fluffy and amazing, but it also changes things up a bit if you’re getting bored of a particular room.

If you mark it, sort it straight away

If you get to a stain immediately, there is a much higher chance of being able to remove it than a stain that has already reacted to the carpet chemically.

Over 90% of stains can actually be removed just using water, so starting from the outside in, press a clean, dry white towel or piece of kitchen roll over the stain to absorb the liquid. Afterwards, simply work the water into the stain with a damp cloth until the stain disappears. Repeat this process until the stain the spill is absorbed.

Never scrub or rub a stain because this will cause damage to the fibres and result in fuzzy carpet. Most importantly, be patient when removing a mark on your carpet because rushing and carelessness will only decrease the chances of getting rid of the stain.
